Dun dun dunnnn!

The letter I'm handing into my work peeps. I guess it's official. Cue panic now. =\

Baby girl decided she hates bottles all of a sudden. Also just not a fan of milk (even nursing) in general. Panicking more than necessary now but she needs to eat!!! We're starting to feed her large amounts of solids, haha. She's my world.

Appointment schedule craziness:

February 20th- Regular cleaning (with my regs dentist)
March 4th- Regular ortho appt (might have to add an extra bracket, change wires)
March 11th- Pre-Op appt with surgeon
March 18th- Ortho to get surgical hooks attached
March 21st- Call hospital to get exact surgery time
March 24th- JAW SURGERY

Epic. After all that- I doubt I'll even have any comped time to use during my leave!!!  I really never thought this day would come. =\ I'm glad I carefully planned my regular dentist appointment, haha. Just kidding. That just happened by chance! I'm so glad though.

Along with all those appointments I have a friend's surprise birthday party, two open houses for work that I will have to attend during evening hours, one of our bigger work fundraisers, plus daily life/sleep habits of a 7 month old! Fun. Times.

Wouldn't change anything for a second!!!

Brace face selfie! Trying to take as many photos as possible now! haha

1 YEAR POST OP

Well HEY! Nothing much has been happening with my mouth lately (WHICH IS GREAT!) so that's why I haven't updated or anything. But TODAY marks ONE YEAR since my jaw was broken in two places! Can't believe that I went though with it. It was honestly the best medical decision of my life (except for maybe my epidural HAHA). I wear my retainers in the evenings and all night. I see my orthodontist and my surgeon in April. I'm hoping I get the go ahead from my ortho to only wear to bed, but we'll see. I'm still extremely happy with my smile. There are tiny gaps in little places occurring but there's nothing I can do about those- says my ortho. Just normal movement. They don't bother me either. I still can't really feel my upper gums, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore. It's just weird sometimes. I love my smile! I wish I had more to say, but here's some photo spam instead. :P Me, TODAY. Loving life and my new smile!  Me...

Day 6

My set-up at my mom's. Vaporizer, for the win! This water bottle also has been amazing! So glad I got that and the jaw bra beforehand. They have both been lifesavers!  My parents and bff gave me the same get well card. Are they trying to tell me something? haha It was amusing. Yesterday was a great day! We had a full house at my mom's. My Uncle even dropped by.. even though it was just to have my dad help him buy movies off of his iPad, lol. My dad made me breakfast and lunch and my sister made me a banana-pineapple smoothie. It was bomb! I wish it weren't so cold or else I could go for more walks but it was a good day yesterday. Jon and the peanut came over, too and we had a ton of fun! I painted my nails rainbow (because I'm awesome) and Uncle Lou Lou played with Millie a lot. Driving in her favorite car! Getting fed by daddy. I miss feeding my baby girl. ;(  I had pureed spaghetti and meatballs for dinner! It's not much to look at, but oh man...

2 months post op!

Wow! I can't believe it's been 2 months already! SO much has changed within the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping it's all thanks to my splint removal! That thing was miserable. Things are really great right now. Amelia, 10 months old ahhhhh, is sleeping through the night now and that makes a HUGE difference. Swelling: It still varies, but it's mostly not noticeable to random people. I notice a little bit. Still around my upper cheeks but it's definitely not as bad as it was. Now that I'm chewing I think that has helped a lot. My lips are back to their regular size! Numbness:  My upper palate and upper gums are still numb. Makes things a little hard to chew but I'm getting the hang of it. Not sure if I'll ever get feeling back there. It's a little annoying because I think I have a cavity on one of my upper teeth and it hurts to floss, but only at the root of my tooth, haha. I guess that's a good thing? Pain : Only after ortho adjustments. No r...
