Spacing issues

Had an adjustment yesterday evening. It was supposed to be my "final wires." But, since I'm not having the jaw surgery for a while... I'm not sure what's going to happen next.

I have this crazy band around my four front, top teeth. It hurts like a bitch. Also has a key on it that will be turned I think at my next appointment in four weeks. I really don't know. He doesn't explain things well sometimes and I just don't care and want to get out of there asap. LOL The tech explained it a little more to me but all everyone wanted to do was talk about babies. Ugh.

Anyway here's a shot of my crazy banded teeth. There was a huge space (still is) between some of the top teeth but he said he did that on purpose so they will pull together nicely. Which is what we are doing right now! Crazy.

The wire thing on the left (technically on my right) is REALLY freaking annoying.
So I will be going back. It's a half-hour appointment next time. I have no idea why. LOL Probably something to do with the band. So unfortunately I have to go in the middle of the day. UGH. Life ruiner. I don't have sick time for this. :( So I'm hoping to come into work and then leave and come back. Annoying and a lot of driving but saves me work sick time.

My teeth hurt pretty badly today. And last night. Just the top row, but that makes it very difficult to chew anything. I'm starving so I'm going to try and eat an English muffin here soon. Good luck me.

1 YEAR POST OP

Well HEY! Nothing much has been happening with my mouth lately (WHICH IS GREAT!) so that's why I haven't updated or anything. But TODAY marks ONE YEAR since my jaw was broken in two places! Can't believe that I went though with it. It was honestly the best medical decision of my life (except for maybe my epidural HAHA). I wear my retainers in the evenings and all night. I see my orthodontist and my surgeon in April. I'm hoping I get the go ahead from my ortho to only wear to bed, but we'll see. I'm still extremely happy with my smile. There are tiny gaps in little places occurring but there's nothing I can do about those- says my ortho. Just normal movement. They don't bother me either. I still can't really feel my upper gums, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore. It's just weird sometimes. I love my smile! I wish I had more to say, but here's some photo spam instead. :P Me, TODAY. Loving life and my new smile!  Me...

Day 6

My set-up at my mom's. Vaporizer, for the win! This water bottle also has been amazing! So glad I got that and the jaw bra beforehand. They have both been lifesavers!  My parents and bff gave me the same get well card. Are they trying to tell me something? haha It was amusing. Yesterday was a great day! We had a full house at my mom's. My Uncle even dropped by.. even though it was just to have my dad help him buy movies off of his iPad, lol. My dad made me breakfast and lunch and my sister made me a banana-pineapple smoothie. It was bomb! I wish it weren't so cold or else I could go for more walks but it was a good day yesterday. Jon and the peanut came over, too and we had a ton of fun! I painted my nails rainbow (because I'm awesome) and Uncle Lou Lou played with Millie a lot. Driving in her favorite car! Getting fed by daddy. I miss feeding my baby girl. ;(  I had pureed spaghetti and meatballs for dinner! It's not much to look at, but oh man...

2 months post op!

Wow! I can't believe it's been 2 months already! SO much has changed within the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping it's all thanks to my splint removal! That thing was miserable. Things are really great right now. Amelia, 10 months old ahhhhh, is sleeping through the night now and that makes a HUGE difference. Swelling: It still varies, but it's mostly not noticeable to random people. I notice a little bit. Still around my upper cheeks but it's definitely not as bad as it was. Now that I'm chewing I think that has helped a lot. My lips are back to their regular size! Numbness:  My upper palate and upper gums are still numb. Makes things a little hard to chew but I'm getting the hang of it. Not sure if I'll ever get feeling back there. It's a little annoying because I think I have a cavity on one of my upper teeth and it hurts to floss, but only at the root of my tooth, haha. I guess that's a good thing? Pain : Only after ortho adjustments. No r...
