February Update!

. I found the images from the consultation last April. Here they are!

So it will be nice to have something to compare future stuff to.

Here's a current photo from today. I'm SO thankful they put a thin, flexible wire on. It doesn't hurt as much as it usually does. Which is a good thing since stupid me packed salad for my lunch today, :(.

Today.
Last month.
Just comparing today and last month. The space between my two front teeth has gone down a lot. But the space between some of my bottom teeth is so tight now. It's quite annoying when flossing. And then there are HUGE gaps between my lower back teeth. I can fit that skinny brush in between them. :( It's frustrating.

I've gotten into the habit of updating after every orthodontist appt, I guess. That works. It's usually every 5 weeks. Next time it will be 6 weeks though because they couldn't fit me in.

Can't believe I've only had my braces on for like four months already. Seems like way longer. LOL

Not too many problems. A bracket fell off AGAIN at the dentist office. Same one. My crowns do NOT like to hold those brackets on. Luckily, it was in the office. Had to stay like 20 extra minutes though when it was only supposed to be like a five minute appt. Boo.

Next time I'm getting pre-surgery molds for sure! That's exciting. They want to see where I am in the process. Nervous

Still preggo, as well! 19 weeks yesterday! Craziness. Okay that's all for now! Ciao!

1 YEAR POST OP

Well HEY! Nothing much has been happening with my mouth lately (WHICH IS GREAT!) so that's why I haven't updated or anything. But TODAY marks ONE YEAR since my jaw was broken in two places! Can't believe that I went though with it. It was honestly the best medical decision of my life (except for maybe my epidural HAHA). I wear my retainers in the evenings and all night. I see my orthodontist and my surgeon in April. I'm hoping I get the go ahead from my ortho to only wear to bed, but we'll see. I'm still extremely happy with my smile. There are tiny gaps in little places occurring but there's nothing I can do about those- says my ortho. Just normal movement. They don't bother me either. I still can't really feel my upper gums, but it doesn't bother me at all anymore. It's just weird sometimes. I love my smile! I wish I had more to say, but here's some photo spam instead. :P Me, TODAY. Loving life and my new smile!  Me...

Surgery date soon to come!!!

I'm too excited to wait to post... I will be getting a surgery date THIS WEEK! My orthodontist met with the surgeon on Friday and they said I'm "officially" ready!! They called me at like 4:30 on Monday afternoon and told me to call the surgeon. Even though I had an 8 a.m. appt on Tuesday morning at the ortho, lol. So I called on Tuesday afternoon and they were like... um we don't even have the paperwork back from their meeting yet- haaaaaa. So they were like- we will call you before Friday. So by FRIDAY I will have a date!!!!! Hopefully. I'm just so excited. And extremely nervous. Mostly nervous. And for the first time in like four months my teeth hurt after the adjustment they did. Yuck. It was hard to chew things yesterday. It's mostly better today though. And as far as breastfeeding goes- my supply dropped when I had a bad illness two weeks ago. So I thought I'd start feeding her formula for one bottle per day to start weaning her, then s...

2 months post op!

Wow! I can't believe it's been 2 months already! SO much has changed within the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping it's all thanks to my splint removal! That thing was miserable. Things are really great right now. Amelia, 10 months old ahhhhh, is sleeping through the night now and that makes a HUGE difference. Swelling: It still varies, but it's mostly not noticeable to random people. I notice a little bit. Still around my upper cheeks but it's definitely not as bad as it was. Now that I'm chewing I think that has helped a lot. My lips are back to their regular size! Numbness:  My upper palate and upper gums are still numb. Makes things a little hard to chew but I'm getting the hang of it. Not sure if I'll ever get feeling back there. It's a little annoying because I think I have a cavity on one of my upper teeth and it hurts to floss, but only at the root of my tooth, haha. I guess that's a good thing? Pain : Only after ortho adjustments. No r...
